I love photo # 5 and 28 the best, although they were all good! They most conveyed the joy and intensity/passion of the musicians! Good job Bill

The Monday evening jazz series has been held during July and August in Hartford, CT's Bushnell Park for over 40 years. Founded by Paul Brown, impresario and well-known and respected jazz bassist, it is currently presented by the Hartford Jazz Society with the support of various corporate sponsors. This evening's program featured Latin Jazz, performed by two groups. Pictured here is the main featured group, The new Cuban Express, led by pianist-composer Manuel Valera, according to Owen McNally of the Hartford Courant. McNally lists as members of the group Joel Frahm, saxophones; Tom Guarna, guitar; John Benitz, bass; Ludwig Afonso, drums; and Mauricio Herrera, conga and percussion.
