Sambaleza at Harbor Park 08-19-14

Sambaleza, an outstanding Brazilian group presented a fine concert at Middletown's Harbor Park on a pleasant summer evening before an appreciative crowd. Sambaleza is Jeff Fuller, leader, bass and vocals; Joe Carter, guitar; Isabella Mendes, vocals and keyboard; and Ben Bilello, drums. Isabel Mendes is a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Joe Carter has traveled to Brazil many times to study Brazilian music. Both Jeff Fuller and Ben Bilello are well known as versatile jazz musicians. Each of the musicians was outstanding as a soloist, but the group played well as as a unit without diminishing the contribution of the performance of each individual.
