The American Cancer Society held one of its many Connecticut Relay for Life events at Riverfront Park in Glastonbury. In the opening ceremonies, two cancer survivors were recognized and a number of other survivors were honored and awarded medals for their efforts in fighting cancer. All survivors then joined in the customary Survivors Lap and then gathered for a meal in the survivors tent. As customary, the entire event extended to the next day so that those present could participate in walking around the track for the entire 24 hours .
